Not Far From Sarajevo

So much abundance in the Bosnian countryside, not even an hours drive out of Sarajevo. The amount of Chanterelle mushrooms, tiny bubblegum strawberries and sweet raspberries found on a walk to see a mysterious waterfall means you could easily scavenge a meal together. Long hikes and fiery raki certainly make for a good night's sleep.

The Desert

If you ever find yourself in Atacama, skip the bus tours and rent a bike. There's nothing quite like cycling along an empty, flat stretch of desert highway in the Valley of the Moon as the daylight fades and the sky turns every shade of pink and purple.

Perros

The abundance of street dogs is one of the first things I noticed when I arrived in Chile. Though not family pets in the traditional sense, these friendly creatures were often cared for by locals who treated them with as much love as their own animals. Kindness manifests itself into a knitted jumper or a make-shift bed made for a four-legged friend to keep them warm during the colder, meaner months.
